Weekend Child Care Supervisor (Child development Worker)

The Weekend Child Care Supervisor position requires an experienced childcare worker who has experience working with children from newborn – 6 years of age. The Weekend Supervisor must have a passion for working with young children in an environment that supports the development of the whole child in a safe and nurturing manner.

HOURS of OPERATION & RESPONSIBILITIES:

– The Weekend Supervisor MUST be reliable and be available to work 7:00 am – 5:00 pm Saturday and Sunday.
– Closed during All long weekends i.e. Easter Weekend
– Additional Hours may be given throughout the week.
– Be responsible for opening and closing the facility.
– Creating a weekend program for different age levels of children.
– Be responsible for supervising weekend staff.

Qualifications 

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • *****MUST have a Child Development Worker Certificate**** at Minimum
  • At least 2  years’ experience working with children in early childhood between the ages of newborn – 12 years of age.
  • Clean Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Screening
  • Child Welfare Check completed
  • CPR & First Aid certified (MUST have upon hiring)
  • Strong English communication skills – both oral and written
  • Ability to interact with parents and co-workers in a warm, empathetic, confident manner

Special Considerations will be given to candidates who:

  • possess an Early Childhood Education Diploma or Degree, a Bachelor of Education Degree or Educational Assistant Diploma
  • Have additional courses/training in child growth and development

Weekend Child Care Provider (Child Development Assistant)

The Weekend Child Care Provider (also known as “weekend staff”) requires an experienced childcare Assistant who has experience working with children from newborn – 6 years of age. The Weekend child care provider must have a passion for working with young children in an environment that supports the development of the whole child in a safe and nurturing manner.

HOURS of OPERATION & RESPONSIBILITIES:

– The Weekend Child Care Worker must be available to work 7:00 am – 5:00 pm Saturday and Sunday.

The Assistant Mini – Toddler Teacher position requires an experienced childcare worker who has experience working with children between the ages of newborn – 2 years of age. The teacher must have a passion for working with young children in an environment that supports the development of the whole child in a safe and nurturing manner.

  • MUST have an Alberta Child Development Assistant Certificate,  Child Development Worker Certificate or Child Development Supervisor Certificate

Supply Teacher   Currently Hiring                                                                                                                            

The Supply Teacher/ Floater position requires an educator with experience working with ALL age groups.

This position assists in one or more Montessori mixed-age early childhood classrooms; Mini- Toddler 12 months – 2.5  years, Toddler 19 months – 3 years, Junior Kindergarten 2.5 years – 3.5 years and Kindergarten 3.5 – 5.5 years.

This is a fantastic entry position in Cold Lake Montessori School, as it provides the opportunity to get to know a variety of teachers and children from different ages in early childhood. It is also a good opportunity to absorb the Montessori Method, for those who have not previously worked in a Montessori environment.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • At least a Level 1- Child Development Assistant
  • At least 1 years’ experience working with children in early childhood between the ages of 12 months – 6 years of age.
  • Clean Criminal Record check with Vulnerable Screening
  • Child Welfare Check Completed
  • CPR & First Aid Certified (or willing to obtain)
  • Strong English communication skills – both oral and written
